St Mark’s Patronal Festival, Pennington in Bloom

We invite you to take part in Pennington in Bloom!

You may well have spotted we’ve already got many flowers on our hedge, with knitted and crocheted flowers, as well as fabulous flowers made by keyworker children at Pennington Junior School and Pennington Infants school – made from donated recycled signs (thank you Nick Budd & the Green Party), and donated pint glasses (thank you Eric Light).

We’re encouraging you all to have a go at making flowers, out of whatever recycled materials you’ve got. Or Keep crocheting through Corona, continue with knitted & crocheted flowers. There’s a drop off box if you’re walking as your daily exercise, outside the Vicarage. Or put them on your own hedges, fences, front doors or windows – somewhere visible from the pavement, so they can be enjoyed by everyone on their daily exercise. (Make sure they’re waterproof, windproof and well attached, so that we don’t add to litter challenges!) Patterns available here.

Together, we can make a glorious Pennington in bloom – Lymington, you’re welcome to join in too. We’d love you to send in your photos to ‘takepart@penningtonchurch.uk

Next Sunday (26th April) is St Mark’s patronal festival, we’d often have a special open gardens event to celebrate. Instead, this year, we’re doing Pennington in Bloom, and would love to see photos of your flowers, or your favourite photos of your garden or outside spaces. Why not take photos of the flowers or wildlife around you, or perhaps you’ve built a new compost heap that you’re proud of. Let us see! Send them in, and we’ll include them in next week’s service. takepart@penningtonchurch.uk

Our service on Sunday 26th April, at 9:30am will be St Mark’s Patronal Festival. Do join us on youtube!

If your gardens or flowers are visible from the road, and you’d like our fabulous local photographer Helen to capture them on her daily walk, let us know.

On our facebook page and webpage we’ll be sharing with you some videos for creative ways you might want to make flowers at home! Take a look, join in, and share your creations with us.
