Our Morning Praise service from Sunday 23rd February – where today, as we think ahead to Lent, we also consider Fairtrade Fortnight: how can we all ensure that those who produce the goods we take for granted – in today’s service, we’re thinking of chocolate – are rightly paid for the effort they undertake to provide for us?
On the 6th October, St Mark’s celebrated harvest! With a service that included a focus on the hard but important work of fair trade organisations, the grateful donations of food and house hold goods for New Forest Basics Bank and a lunch catered for by the excellent staff of Lanes of Lymington!
For our Harvest Festival service, Maureen Harris, a member of neighbouring St Thomas’ Church in Lymingon and active in Traidcraft, talked to us about the importance of buying fairly traded goods – and why it makes a difference to the lives and communities of the growers and producers of items we take for granted.
