This week’s thought
The greater purpose and value of our existence in God’s eyes is more important than just food or clothing. Worrying about our material needs reflects a lack of faith and is counterproductive. We must trust in God’s provision. Those seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness will have their needs met and experience peace. We must focus on what truly matters in life and rely on God’s loving care, provision and protection, living in the present and trusting in God for our daily needs. Matthew 6: 25 – 34
St Barbe’s Activities morning
For ages from 3+ on Monday 16th February there is a drop-in session in our Community Hall from 11 – 12.30. There will be family fun activities inspired by our Kurt Jackson – Lymington River Exhibition for you to join in.
CTLP Lent Lunches
Each Friday in Lent from 20th February to 27th March there will be a Lenten Soup Lunch held at Our Lady and St Joseph’s in Lymington. There will be a service of Stations of the Cross at 11.15 followed by lunch at midday.
The Duke from Culture in Common
Coming to St. Mark’s Community Hall on March 15th at 3:00 PM, The Duke is a funny, poignant, and playful one-man show by award-winning creator Shôn Dale-Jones. This unique production weaves together the “tragi-comic” fate of a family heirloom—a porcelain figure of the Duke of Wellington—with the story of a scriptwriter’s personal quandary and the unfolding reality of children fleeing their homes. It is a charming show that blends fantasy and reality to gently challenge our priorities in a world of crisis.
Originally a Fringe First Award winner at the Edinburgh Fringe and later a ‘Play of the Week’ on BBC Radio 4, this performance has been described by The Guardian as “mesmerising.” Tickets are priced at £12 for adults, £6 for under-18s, and £30 for a family ticket. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a masterful piece of storytelling that balances humour with heart.
Step Up Safe Space (SUSS) Hub
On Thursdays call in at Pennington Community Hall from 11 – 12. SUSS volunteers will be offering refreshments and snacks before the Larder opens at noon.

Holy Communion Intinction
The CoE’s national policy is that intinction (dipping) of wafers is not permitted, to keep safe those with particular health conditions. Those with severe allergies, particularly to gluten, can become seriously ill. There is a chance that a person’s fingers could touch the outside of the chalice or the wine, as hands carry many more germs than found on our lips.
It is important to remember receiving Communion in ‘one kind’ is still Communion ‘in full’.
Pennington Community Hub
The Community Hub continues it’s successful work on Thursday in the Community Hall from 11pm to 2pm.
Daily Prayer
With St Thomas in Lymington, we continue to ‘pray for our nation, for its leaders, its health and essential services and all those who suffer’ this week at 9am on Zoom. Led by members of St Mark’s and St Thomas congregations, this now runs Monday through Friday.
Daily prayer is also taking place in St Thomas church from 9am on Saturdays
