News from the church yard

One of the blue tits that had been ringed on May 9th, 2022, as a chick in one of the nest boxes at the churchyard in Pennington was seen last week. It was about three quarters of a mile away from the church. It is now an adult male paired with a female and it is about to begin its second breeding season. Wonderful news that’s well worth tweeting about!

The Fareshare Larder continues it’s successful work on Thursday in the Community Hall. But, for the moment we are not meeting afterwards from 2-4pm for refreshments. We are looking into alternative ideas for continuing this outreach work to strengthen the work in our community

On Saturday 10 February, 10am-12noon, local charity, Step Up Safe Space, will be offering free, donated uniforms for Priestlands, Our Lady and St. Joseph, and Lymington primary. They will also have some generic uniform items and children’s clothing available and will be accepting donations of good, wearable-condition items.
