Confirmation group

Congratulations to Charlotte and Patricia who completed the confirmation preparation recently. We have two candidates who are being confirmed next Wednesday 26th January at 7:30pm at St. Andrews Church, Dibden Purlieu. Sharon and Andrew have also completed the course and will be confirmed at a later date.

Please will you keep all the candidates in your prayers as they prepare for their confirmation.

Food larder

This week the Food larder celebrated it’s first anniversary and the team continue to thrive as we provide much needed food in conjunction with Fare Share and the Basics Bank in Lymington. We started with approximately 15 families and now have around 40 families a week coming to the community hall on Thursday between 1pm and 2pm.

If you know of anyone who might benefit from this service, do please spread the word.

Christian Unity Week

This week we are focussing on Christian Unity and we recently had a meeting between all the churches in the Lymington and Pennington area. It is so encouraging to see so many working together in a common purpose.

Watch this space for future joint projects.

Lent Course

We are going to be working alongside other churches in the area to offer a range of dates and times for a Lent Course this year. If you are interested in joining in study together do please keep your eyes peeled for dates and times.

Tree-mendous Celebration

A huge thank you goes to everyone who contributed to the Tree-mendous Project on the hedge this year. We had 63 trees in addition to the 3000 lights and the star outside the church this year. It is so encouraging to see so many in our community contributing to the project and keeping our hedge a point of interest in the village.

The trees have now been taken down and are at 29 Ramley Road Pennington if you would like to collect yours to keep. They will be there until 31st January 2022.

Get involved; would you like to contribute with readings or intercessions?

Key parts of a church services are in sharing the wisdom within our Bibles and through prayer, giving thanks and sharing our fears and concerns with our loving God.

If you would like to contribute to the work we do in the form of the readings or leading in prayer, do please get in touch – we’d love to include you in our services. You don’t have to be able to be in the building for reading either; we can include you pre-recorded too!

Get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.

Study Group

The Monday study group will be meeting up again from this Monday 24th January 2022 to continue our Pilgrim Course on the Eucharist. This week’s session will be looking into worship as a sign and a foretaste of heaven. If you would like to join us, please email vicar_pa@penningtonchurch.uk or join us on the Zoom link.

Daily Prayer

With St Thomas in Lymington, we continue to ‘pray for our nation, for its leaders, its health and essential services and all those who suffer’ this week at 9am on Zoom. Led by Jane Nicholson from St Mark’s and Sarah Salisbury from St Thomas, this now runs Monday through Friday. Please do join them either by computer or phone:
