Friendship Tea

The next Friendship Tea will be on October 1st from 2.30pm so be ready to share your news over tea/coffee and deliciously good cakes. Our thanks to Pat and Shirley and the team for organising the teas throughout the year.

Study Group in autumn

The study group continue their studies on Monday 23rd September 2024. We will be continuing our journey into the book of Revelation and will be delving into the book of Acts next. If you would like to join our happy bunch on a Monday at 10am, do please let Jane Nicholson know or email jane@penningtonchurch.uk.

Churchyard Maintenance

We are in need of more volunteers from church /community to help: please speak to Ingrid or Eve about our meetings and joining in (even occasionally) our meetings, normally on the 1st Thursday of the month, if you are interested in keeping the churchyard looking tidy!

Harvest lunch

We hope to host a simple salads and cold meat harvest lunch for midday on Sunday 6th October, at the Pennington Community Hall! Calling all volunteers who may be able to help and a confirmation of numbers who may want to attend. Forms for both to be available in church.

Licencing as LLM for Jane Nicholson

Jane would like to thank everyone in our Church family for their encouragement and support throughout her training. As many of you may know, once you start on a journey of faith, it is by no means impossible for that journey to continue along other pathways! Jane continues:

My licensing service is at 11am at Winchester Cathedral on 12th October 2024. This service will be a milestone in my journey but not a resting place as I am continuing my studies for a further year whilst I discern a calling for possible ordination. If you find me absent on a Sunday at the moment, it is probably because I am exploring other services at other locations. This coming Sunday, I will be at a study weekend in Winchester University as we mark the beginning of another year of assignments, essays and joyful exploration.

Culture in Common Sunday Drama

Keep this date in your diary: Sunday 3rd November 7pm when our next play will be ‘Dracula: the Vampyr’ a solo performance by David Mynne who performed a wonderful ‘A Christmas Carol’ for us last year. Tickets will be available soon from church or online.

Pennington Community Hub

The Community Hub continues it’s successful work on Thursday in the Community Hall from 12pm to 2pm.

Ecochurch Recycling

  • Milk Bottle tops: we are now collecting these as Stewarts Garden Centre are turning these into garden furniture!
  • Ground coffee/coffee bean packets: a notice at the back of church shows which bags are now being collected. Please support our effort to reduce waste.

Daily Prayer

With St Thomas in Lymington, we continue to ‘pray for our nation, for its leaders, its health and essential services and all those who suffer’ this week at 9am on Zoom. Led by members of St Mark’s and St Thomas congregations, this now runs Monday through Friday.

Daily prayer is also taking place in St Thomas church from 9am on Saturdays

Coming together, we offer daily prayer for the situation in Ukraine.
