Do you mourn a loved one?

Special Creative Space session – in memory of Jane Nicholson
Friday 25th October 2024, from 2.00 – 4.00 pm, at St Luke’s Church, Sway

Following the passing of Jane Nicholson, who also served as parish administrator for St Luke’s church at Sway, Jane the vicar of Sway invites members of our congregation to join them at a creative afternoon in her memory.

Take time today to paint or draw or write or simply be giving thanks for your loved one through creativity. Sit and be and know the peace of God around you.

Vicar Jane Mitchell will reflect on some scripture – asking God to lead us in remembering those whom we love but see no more.

Sunflowers were Jane Nicholson’s favourite flowers.  She had a bag with them on,  her e-mail included ‘sunflower’ and it spoke of her sunny personality.  You are invited to study the flower,  how it is made, its colours and it’s uses and its beauty and if you would like to paint or draw sunflowers – go ahead.

You might like to bring other special objects of a loved one  to remember them especially at this time of year.

God does not forget our loved ones – he holds them in his heart and we hold them in ours.

Some art materials will be available if you’d like to use those, or you are welcome to bring along your own creative project to work on.

For the final half-hour, refreshments will be served and there will be time to talk together.

Please call St Luke’s Church office, 01590 682358, before Wednesday 23rd October if you plan to join us – and do leave a message including your name and contact number if no one is available to answer. We look forward to seeing you.

“I am the last of my kind. Let them pursue me to the ends of the earth. I shall be waiting…”

Beware! He is unearthed. And he is coming. Keep your windows locked and hang up the garlic! The man that brought us A Christmas Carol has got his teeth into Bram Stoker’s classic tale. Devised and written in their inimitable, irreverent style expect a better and bloodier one-man performance of Dracula: the Vampyr!

There are bats. And more bats; Garlic and gore galore; Vicious Vampirellas and a psychiatrist who smokes a pipe! They’re all here in this brand-new adaptation of Stoker’s famous gothic horror! Be warned – this monstrous, disturbing and utterly batty tale of dark deeds and the undead, will thrill and beguile you! Deliciously Dark! Horribly Hair-raising! Suitably Silly!
