Treemendous Celebration
3,000 lights and 100 trees lighting up Pennington by Christmas Eve – and we need your help to make it happen! Decorate a hand crafted wooden tree or display a light for the community, ready for the 10th December.
A volunteer in the village is busy cutting out over 100 wooden 2D Christmas Trees (each 1.2m high) which will be secured to the church hedge – from the 10th December, and the forest of trees will continue to grow as more are return.
The Trees will be available to collect from Friday 3rd December – in the front garden of the Vicarage, Ramley Road, Pennington, SO41 8HF.
We ask for a £5 donation towards your tree-mendous canvas – your donation going towards this and future community events managed by St Mark’s Church, Pennington.
We’ve more information about this event here.
Christingle pressgang!
Come and join us on Wednesday 22nd December in church, where we prepare for Christmas Eve’s Christingle service! We’re assembling Christingles (socially distanced and masked, but bring your own cup and we will fill it with coffee) and need your nimble fingers to help the assemble, from 10:15am.
Get involved; would you like to contribute with readings or intercessions?
Key parts of a church services are in sharing the wisdom within our Bibles and through prayer, giving thanks and sharing our fears and concerns with our loving God.
If you would like to contribute to the work we do in the form of the readings or leading in prayer, do please get in touch – we’d love to include you in our services. You don’t have to be able to be in the building for reading either; we can include you pre-recorded too!
Get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.

Christmas Lunch by St Thomas Church
St Thomas have enough volunteers for Christmas day lunch now – but they still have places for 17 people who are on their own that day, lonely and deserving and are working their way through messages.
They ask if there are other charities like foodbank or good neighbour at the hospice, hospital transport or any other local organisations if they need assistance and perhaps those volunteers who are still out there would be interested in assisting them instead.
Ring the church between 9am and 12pm on 01590 676194 to book a place or email lymingtonchurch.org
Rachel’s art for sale!
