Donations for St Mark’s equipment and maintenance

We are pleased to say that we have received £2,379 in donations (includes the tax back) for installing our sound system. This includes money raised from the Rogation Walk that Paul organised in August. Thank you so much for all your gifts.

If you can help with the cost of replacing our heat pump (£323 + VAT) in church, the churchyard wall on Wainsford Rd (£445 + VAT) and CCTV for the Hall, we ask you to prayerfully consider what you can give to help us. Every contribution is deeply appreciated as it makes a meaningful difference to preserve our church for current and future generations. A donation box is at the back of church.

WI Quiz Night

Pennington WI are holding another quiz night with fish and chip supper at the St Marks Community Hall on Saturday 18th April to which everyone is invited! Doors open at 6:30pm for a 6:45pm start with supper being served around 7:30pm.

There will be a raffle and all proceeds are being donated to the Hampshire and Isle Wight Air Ambulance.

The only cost is for the summer (fish and chips, sausage and chips or veggie burger with chips) which has to be ordered in advance. If you are interested, please contact Pat Wright (01590-678416) and the WI will be delighted if you can join us for a fun evening.

Holy Communion Intinction

The CoE’s national policy is that intinction (dipping) of wafers is not permitted, to keep safe those with particular health conditions. Those with severe allergies, particularly to gluten, can become seriously ill. There is a chance that a person’s fingers could touch the outside of the chalice or the wine, as hands carry many more germs than found on our lips.

It is important to remember receiving Communion in ‘one kind’ is still Communion ‘in full’.

Pennington Community Hub

The Community Hub continues it’s successful work on Thursday in the Community Hall from 11pm to 2pm.
