Rogation Walk – August 23rd 2025
Fancy stretching your legs, enjoying some beautiful local scenery and supporting St Mark’s? Join us for our Rogation Walk around the parish of Pennington – starting at St Mark’s Church at 10am. We’ll meet from 9:30am for a prompt start.
The route is just under 13 miles, taking us down to the stunning Keyhaven salt marshes. It’s not hilly or tricky underfoot, but please wear suitable shoes and bring water with you (flip-flops probably won’t make it).
It’s a lovely opportunity to enjoy time together, celebrate the beauty of God’s creation, and maybe discover parts of our parish you’ve never seen before.
Donations are welcome in support of St Mark’s – and if you’d like to give, our Stewardship page is here: www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/RogationWalk2025
Come and join us – the more the merrier!
The health and safety bit…
We want everyone to enjoy the walk safely and comfortably, so please make sure you’re feeling fit and well before setting off. Bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, and remember that while the route isn’t particularly hilly, there will be stretches along country roads and some uneven paths. Good, sturdy footwear is a must, and it’s a good idea to dress for the weather – whether that means a sun hat and sunscreen or a waterproof and an extra layer! If you have any personal medication you might need during the walk (such as an inhaler), please bring it with you. And most importantly – pace yourself, look out for each other, and enjoy the journey.
