Treemendous Celebration
3,000 lights and up to 100 trees lighting up Pennington by Christmas Eve – and Pennington has made it happen!
Businesses, schools, nurseries, individual people and children have decorated hand crafted wooden trees or displayed a light for the community, ready for 25th December.
A volunteer in the village cut out over 100 wooden 2D Christmas Trees (each 1.2m high) and these have been secured to the church hedge (thanks to Phil and Alan), and the forest of trees has grown.
Thank you for all the donations given towards your tree-mendous canvas – your donations will be going towards this and future community events managed by St Mark’s Church, Pennington.
St Mark’s Church wishes everyone a Tree-mendously HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A
BRIGHT NEW YEAR.
Get involved; would you like to contribute with readings or intercessions?
Key parts of a church services are in sharing the wisdom within our Bibles and through prayer, giving thanks and sharing our fears and concerns with our loving God.
If you would like to contribute to the work we do in the form of the readings or leading in prayer, do please get in touch – we’d love to include you in our services. You don’t have to be able to be in the building for reading either; we can include you pre-recorded too!
Get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.

Merry Christmas
Who was the vicar on Christmas Day please? He was excellent, I wasn’t it n church but watched on you tube.
Well done to everyonelse lovely service.
That was Francis Cumberlege; whilst our own Rachel overcomes Covid, we’re grateful for the support of retired clergy who have been a huge help to us – Rosie Ward also deserves a special mention in that regard. Take a look on YouTube for our Boxing Day service – he gave a lovely homily for the 8am BCP service too.
